Tragic Accident at Doi Phra Bat Intersection: 18-Wheel Truck Kills Woman, Critically Injures Another

At 10:40 AM on February 20, 2024, Police Major Narupon Rodwiset from Lampang Police Station was alerted to a collision between an 18-wheel trailer and a motorcycle at the Doi Phra Bat traffic light intersection. Investigating officers arrived with forensic medical personnel and rescue workers. At the scene, they found one unidentified woman aged 50-60 years dead, her body severely damaged and lying in the middle of the road. A second woman was critically injured with a broken left ankle and was immediately taken to the hospital. The 25-year-old truck driver, named Pracha, stated he was turning right during a green light to pick up stone materials when the motorcycle suddenly swerved in front of his vehicle. He claimed he could not brake in time, resulting in the fatal collision. Police will continue investigating the incident and collect evidence to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
