Urgent! Fire Breaks Out at Yacht Construction Yard on Thung Pradu Seaside in Tub Sakae

On February 14, 2024 at 1:30 PM, Police Lieutenant Winai Lailarb from Tub Sakae Police Station was notified of a fire at a yacht construction yard along the Thung Pradu seaside in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. Fire trucks from the local administrative organization were coordinated to control the situation. Massive flames engulfed the yacht construction yard, with thick black smoke rising over a kilometer into the sky, causing local residents to watch in shock. Charan Sricharem, 64, the community enterprise president, noticed the unusual black smoke while tending to his fishing boat and immediately alerted police. The fire quickly spread due to the fiberglass boat hull and numerous chemicals and boat construction equipment in the yard. The large yacht, nearly completed after three years of construction, was almost half-destroyed, with its roof collapsing. Fortunately, no workers were present as it was a holiday. Firefighters struggled to control the blaze due to strong winds. The private company's yacht construction yard, located on Thung Pradu seaside, was nearing completion with a five-year contract. Preliminary damage is estimated at over 30 million baht. Police are continuing to investigate the exact cause of the fire.
