Pipat Dismisses Democrat Party's Southern Seat Challenge, Confident of Exceeding 31 Seats

Pipat Rachkitprakarn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, as a Bhumjaithai Party leader overseeing Southern regions, confidently discussed the final campaign stretch before the February 8th election. He emphasized the party's goal of winning at least 31 parliamentary seats across the 14 Southern provinces. In Surat Thani province, the party has fielded candidates in all 7 electoral districts, with confidence in 5 existing candidates and 2 new young politicians. Pipat challenged the Democrat Party, pointing out their declining popularity in the South - from winning 54 out of 55 districts in the past to a significant reduction in recent elections. He argued that the Democrat Party should reflect on why their support has diminished, stating they cannot claim the South as their inherited territory. Bhumjaithai Party has progressively increased its Southern seats from 8 in 2019 to 12 in 2023, and expects further growth in this election.
