DAD Launches Zone C Government Complex Building as Smart City Prototype
The Department of Treasury Development (DAD) has announced the opening of Zone C at the Government Complex, presenting a state-of-the-art smart office building. The centerpiece is the 'Pod Duang' building, a multi-purpose facility designed as an energy-efficient, environmentally friendly complex. The project includes a Ramathibodi Hospital clinic, co-working spaces, and a large conference center that can accommodate up to 8,000 people daily. Theethach Suksaad, acting managing director of DAD, emphasized the organization's commitment to developing energy-efficient, green-standard buildings. The Zone C project represents a flagship development of grade A office spaces that embody the Smart City concept. The building complex consists of four surrounding buildings with the 'Pod Duang' building at its center. It features diverse spaces including a food center, shops, health services, and a second-floor clinic. The third floor offers a fitness center and club for government employees, while the fourth and fifth floors provide co-working spaces for freelancers and small entrepreneurs. With a total construction area of approximately 660,000 square meters and over 510,000 square meters of office space, the complex is currently home to 17 government agencies, with plans to accommodate 25 total. The building is designed with energy efficiency in mind, featuring a Solar Shield system that reduces heat entry by 37% and solar cell installations generating about 2,200 kilowatts of electricity daily.
