Drug Suspect's Protective Dog Bites Police Officer During Arrest
On January 31, 2024, Police Colonel Arthit Simcharoen from Bang Pahan Police Station in Ayutthaya Province led an operation to arrest a drug suspect named Nirun, 39 years old. The police team pursued the suspect for over 1 kilometer before catching him after he jumped into a water pond. Initially unable to find drugs on the suspect, police returned to search his house, where they discovered a Bangkaew dog. During the house search, the protective dog suddenly attacked Police Sergeant Worachet Promdee, biting his left calf and causing bleeding. Officers were forced to call the suspect's relatives to remove the dog. After controlling the situation, they found 67 methamphetamine pills hidden in the house. The injured officer was sent to Bang Pahan Hospital for treatment and vaccination, and is now in stable condition.
