Three Chinese Nationals Arrested for Illegal Border Crossing from Cambodia
SA KAEO — On February 12, 2026, Thai border forces apprehended three Chinese men who allegedly entered Thailand illegally through a natural border passage while fleeing a crackdown in Cambodia, according to officials.
Burapha Task Force commander Col. Chainarong Kasi reported that troops from the Aranyaprathet Task Force (Ranger Company 1204) were patrolling a sugarcane field between border checkpoints A.66 and A.67 in Ban Non Khilek village when they encountered the men.
During the search, officers discovered the men had no valid travel documents. The suspects claimed they were previously running a medium-sized retail business in Cambodia and paid a broker 5,000 yuan each to be smuggled into Thailand, with plans to open a shop in Bangkok.
The three men were taken to Ranger Company 1204 for questioning and will be processed by Sa Kaeo immigration officers and Khlong Nam Sai police station for further legal proceedings.
