Ekanit Pushes BOI Fast Pass to Unlock Over 480 Billion Baht in Investments

Ekanit Nitithunprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, revealed after the Cabinet meeting on February 17th that following the National Economic and Social Development Council's projection of 2.4% GDP growth for 2025, the government is preparing economic stimulus measures using the BOI Fast Pass mechanism. He explained that the goal is to unlock private investments already approved by the Board of Investment (BOI) but stuck in procedural stages, representing approximately 80 projects worth over 480,000 million baht. The focus is to quickly inject these funds into the system, particularly targeting new industry sectors like smart electronics and digital technologies. Accelerating budget disbursement for government agencies and state enterprise investment spending will be crucial in maintaining economic momentum.
