SMEs Rejoice! SME D Bank Raises Green Loan Ceiling to 30 Million Baht with Low 3% Interest
Pichet Mitrawong, Managing Director of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand (SME D Bank), revealed that Thailand's low economic growth necessitates restructuring through technology, innovation, and clean energy to enhance business potential, especially for SMEs, which are the economic bloodstream. The government has approved expanding the SME Green Productivity loan program, increasing the credit limit from 10 million to 30 million baht to support businesses transitioning to green technologies. Key features include a low 3% fixed interest rate for the first three years, repayment terms up to 10 years, and a 12-month principal payment holiday. The program aims to support approximately 1,700 SMEs, generate 68.7 billion baht in economic circulation, and maintain at least 27,680 jobs while promoting environmentally friendly business practices. Entrepreneurs can apply for these loans through various SME D Bank channels until December 30, 2024, or until the credit limit is exhausted.
