Military Vehicle Catches Fire After Trailing Vehicle Alerts Driver
On January 30, 2024, Police Lieutenant Thirawit Yiemsawat from Ratchaburi Police Station received a report of a military vehicle fire on Phetchkasem Road near Khae Kan Chan intersection in Ratchaburi province. Public disaster mitigation officers from Donwtako Subdistrict and Prachanu Kun Foundation, along with volunteer teams, responded with fire trucks.
At the scene, a 4-wheel Isuzu truck was completely engulfed in flames. Officials had to quickly close the traffic route, which was heavily congested, and spent approximately 20 minutes battling the fire before bringing it under control.
According to the truck driver, they were transporting chairs to Army Development Division 1 with two vehicles. During the journey, a trailing vehicle honked to signal smoke at the back of the truck. The driver quickly stopped to attempt extinguishing the fire, but flames rapidly spread across the entire vehicle, making it uncontrollable. They immediately called for help.
Initially, no injuries were reported. The extent of damage is still under investigation, as the truck was carrying numerous chair-related equipment. Authorities are currently conducting a detailed investigation into the cause of the fire.
