Election Tally Sheets Discovered in Rubbish Bin in Chonburi
CHONBURI — On 10 February 2026, residents and political party representatives raised serious concerns about the parliamentary election results in Chonburi's Constituency 1 after vote tally sheets were found discarded in a garbage bin.
At 03:15, residents discovered vote tally sheets from Polling Station 15 at Wat Klang Don Kindergarten School in the rubbish, which showed candidate Suchart Chomklin received 266 votes while candidate Worath Sirirak received 278 votes.
The Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) deputy secretary-general, Pol. Capt. Chanin Noilek, arrived at the scene and urged the public to gather evidence while awaiting a central commission meeting at 10:00 to determine whether a vote recount would be necessary.
Chonburi Governor Narit Niramaiwong arrived at 09:00 to inspect the situation, instructing officials to maintain tight security and asking protesters to remain calm while waiting for the ECT's decision.
