Not Phanthawat Explains Origin of Checkin Books Platform to Solve Accommodation Booking Fraud
Not Phanthawat came forward to explain the background and reasons for developing the Checkin Books platform, noting that the key reason for such a system in Thailand is that many small accommodations are facing problems not due to lack of diligence or management, but because they lack a concrete protection system.
The recurring problem involves fraudulent claims through fake pages, fake Line accounts, and dummy accounts, causing customers to transfer booking money but then find the hotel has disappeared and cannot be contacted, resulting in lost funds and ruined vacation plans.
This situation has made customers hesitant to book directly, while accommodations are also reluctant to accept direct bookings, forcing both sides to rely on existing systems with high commission fees simply to avoid being scammed.
Checkin Books was developed not to make accommodations look high-tech, but to solve problems directly - creating a system that allows accommodation owners to work systematically and helps customers book directly without worrying about encountering fraudsters.
During its five-month Beta Phase starting in August 2568 (2025), over 200 accommodations joined the platform, generating 31,350 bookings and creating over 89 million baht in revenue for participating properties.
