Police Colonel Thawee Appeals to Pattani Residents, Backs 'Worawit Baru' for Party - 'Wan Nor' Defends Malay Dignity Against Vote Selling
Police Colonel Thawee Sodsong, leader of Prachachat Party and former Minister of Justice, led a campaign rally in Puyud School field, Pattani province. He emphasized the party's intention to restore justice and dignity for southern border provinces by proposing a Peace and Reconciliation Act to replace special emergency laws.
Thawee declared that special laws have long been an obstacle to life and economic development in the region, calling for a transition to genuine peace-building legislation. He also announced welfare policies to reduce social inequality, including free education through bachelor's degree and increased elderly benefits.
Wan Muhamad Nor Mata, the party's advisory council president, urged residents not to 'sell votes like selling mataba' (a local pastry). He stressed the importance of preserving the dignity of Pattani, which he described as the spiritual center for Muslims.
The rally highlighted Dr. Worawit Baru, parliamentary candidate for Pattani's District 1, praising his academic background from Prince of Songkla University and successful football team management experience. Wan Nor emphasized that voting for Worawit means choosing intelligence and vision for change.
