Football Management Journey Begins! Thibaut Courtois Acquires Shares in Le Mans FC
Thibaut Courtois, the goalkeeper for Real Madrid of La Liga in Spain, has started his football management journey by becoming one of the shareholders of Le Mans FC in the French Ligue 2. Previously, a Brazilian investment group called Outfield acquired the majority of Le Mans' shares, followed by other notable personalities investing in the club, including famous tennis player Novak Djokovic and two former Formula One drivers Felipe Massa and Kevin Magnussen. Most recently, Courtois has operated through his own company, Nextplay Capital, to invest and become a minority shareholder of Le Mans FC, which the club has officially confirmed. Le Mans FC has previously experienced a low period due to financial challenges, but the club is now on an upward trajectory after being promoted to Ligue 2 in the current season and potentially even positioning themselves for a chance to return to Ligue 1.
