Mayor Tee Delighted as Phattana Nikhom Hosts Vibrant Thailand Open Cycling Championship
Mayor Surasak Choem-som of Khao Phraya Doen Thong Municipality expressed great joy as cyclists from all directions converged for the Thailand Open cycling championship. The event, competing for the royal trophy of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, took place on February 14-15 in Phattana Nikhom District, Lopburi Province. The municipality's primary goal was to boost the local economy, with over 1,000 athletes and supporters bringing increased revenue to local businesses including accommodations, restaurants, OTOP products, and community market vendors. Mayor Surasak highlighted that the cycling competition also effectively promotes tourism, showcasing beautiful local attractions like the Khao Phraya Doen Thong viewpoint and Pa Sak Jolasid Dam. He additionally invited participants to explore the ongoing King Narai Heritage Festival in the province. The event was officially opened by District Officer Thanarat Ajinkit, with representation from cycling associations and local officials.
