Residents File Evidence with Election Commission of Khon Kaen over Vote Buying Video

Residents from Khon Kaen Election District 9 brought evidence to the Election Commission office to potentially prosecute those involved in vote buying. A video shared online shows a woman wearing long sleeves, a hat, and mask, sitting among villagers and handling banknotes. She is seen distributing 500-baht bills and instructing someone to vote for Candidate Number 2. On February 5, 2024, Sois Boran, a registered voter in the district, submitted video evidence of vote buying to Watchara Sisan, the local Election Commission director. Boran emphasized that he is not trying to discredit anyone, but felt compelled to report the inappropriate actions as a responsible citizen. The video allegedly shows representatives of a candidate offering 1,000 baht to villagers. Election District 9 covers Phon, Waeng Noi, and Waeng Yai districts and has 9 candidates.
