2 Trang Democrat Party Candidates Satisfied with Landslide Election Results amid Intense Vote Buying
Kanchorn Tangpong and Thanophat Sinchai, two Democrat Party candidates in Trang, were pleased with their landslide election results, despite losing in two districts amid severe vote buying allegations. On February 10, 2026, Kanchorn Tangpong, a candidate in Trang's 4th district and former MP, highlighted his victory with a margin of approximately 20,000 votes over his Bhumjaithai Party competitor. He emphasized that the result exceeded expectations due to strong public support and his commitment to the Democrat Party. Thanophat Sinchai, the candidate for Trang's 1st district, was equally satisfied, receiving 34,372 votes - far more than his initial expectation of around 10,000. Despite being a newcomer and facing intense vote buying allegations, he attributed his strong performance to the genuine support and faith of the people. Both candidates acknowledged the vote buying concerns and called on the Election Commission to thoroughly investigate the claims, expressing confidence in the integrity of some of the commission's members.
