Marine Police Dive Canal, Find Fake Gun Evidence in Gold Robbery
Senior Police Lieutenant General Noppasil Poolsawat led a team of water police and diving units to search a canal near Phatthanakan Bridge in Bangkok, seeking evidence from a gold shop robbery that occurred on January 30th. The police deployed metal scanning equipment and divers to locate the weapon used in the theft of 198 barams of gold from a shop in the Phra Khanong area.
After a 20-minute search, police found a fake air gun matching the description of the weapon seen in security camera footage. Police Lieutenant General Noppasil confirmed the weapon's characteristics closely resemble those from a similar gold shop robbery in 2019, where suspects remain unidentified.
The suspect is described as professional, wearing a disguise, possibly with a fake wig, and adept at avoiding surveillance cameras. Police are continuing their intensive investigation to track down the perpetrator.
