Praise for School Director Who Offered Herself as Hostage, Shot While Protecting Students During School Shooting

A heroic incident occurred on February 11th involving an 18-year-old male suspect who stole a firearm from police and invaded Patong Pradankiri School in Hat Yai, Songkhla. The perpetrator shot the school director and a 14-year-old female student, taking students hostage until police surrounded the area and the suspect surrendered. Deputy Director Darawan Chaisuwan, who previously worked with the school director, praised the director's bravery in volunteering to replace students as a hostage. The director was shot in the abdomen but has successfully undergone surgery and is now in recovery.
