State Railway Extends Special Goods Transport Route in Southern Thailand
On January 30, 2024, the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has extended the special goods transport route for train services 985/986 between Bangkok (Hua Lamphong) and Sungai Kolok for one more year.
The extension aims to help citizens, farmers, and businesses transport both small and large quantities of goods conveniently and economically. The service supports SME businesses and agricultural producers, running from now until December 31, 2024.
The special goods train will stop at 33 stations along the route, including major cities like Bangkok, Nakhon Pathom, Hua Hin, Surat Thani, Hat Yai, Pattani, and Yala. Customers can expect their goods to be delivered within 1-2 days.
The service operates daily, and interested parties can contact the customer service center at 1690 for more information. Beyond providing convenient transportation, this initiative helps connect producers directly with markets, supports agricultural product distribution, and helps prevent market oversupply while strengthening local economic networks.
