Drugged Man Goes Berserk: Attacks Police, Resists Rubber Bullets

On February 2nd, 2024, Police Lieutenant Kritsada Sitthiyanant led a team to intervene with a 34-year-old man named Somporn who was causing a disturbance in his home in Thung Song district, Nakhon Si Thammarat province. Despite attempts to negotiate and using electric shock batons, Somporn became violent, throwing broken glass and injuring one officer. The officers fired eight rubber bullet shots but failed to stop him, with Somporn even attempting to stab Lieutenant Kritsada. After a two-hour confrontation, police finally managed to chase and subdue Somporn approximately 500 meters from his home. When captured, Somporn was incoherent, calling for his mother and speaking nonsensically. He was taken into custody for drug testing and assault charges.
