Abhisit Admits Democrats Trailing in Bangkok, Plans Southern Campaign Against Vote Buying
Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of the Democrat Party and prime ministerial candidate, along with Sakoltee Phattiyakul, the party's deputy leader responsible for Bangkok, visited Ying Charoen Market to support Wivian Julmont, the party's Bangkok MP candidate. The campaign stop was lively, with market vendors and people eager to take photos and shake hands with Abhisit. Supporters encouraged him, saying "We're voting for you" and "Definitely voting - please take care of the elderly." At one point, Abhisit took a photo with a tiny Liverpool football fan, joking, "Can you handle it? Don't be angry at 3 AM tonight." Abhisit revealed he will spend the next 2-3 days in the Southern region, emphasizing the need to fight for honest politics due to prevalent vote-buying rumors. He called on the Election Commission to proactively investigate and make examples of vote-buying incidents. Regarding air quality, Abhisit also highlighted the PM 2.5 pollution from agricultural burning in Nakhon Nayok province, urging the government to take serious action against such practices.
