A Decisive Blow - When the Election Commission Lacks Credibility
It's hard to believe how chaotic the February 8, 2024 election has become. The Bhumjaithai Party won an overwhelming victory with 193 seats out of 500, which is significant enough to potentially form a stable government. After the election, all political parties initially accepted the results, and everything should have proceeded normally. The winning party would form a government, while the losing parties would serve as opposition, checking and balancing power. However, the situation unexpectedly became more complicated, with a significant part of the chaos attributed to the Election Commission itself. Issues include suspicious vote counting, discrepancies in ballot numbers across different districts - with over 300,000 ballot differences, raising serious questions about the election's integrity. The use of QR codes and barcodes tracking voting patterns has also raised constitutional concerns about the secrecy of voting. The Election Commission now faces a severe credibility crisis, as an organization that relies on public trust cannot survive when that trust is fundamentally compromised.
