Governor Traipop Drives 7 Strategies to Protect and Restore Rayong's Environment
Rayong Governor Traipop Wongtrirat disclosed that protecting and preserving natural resources and the environment is one of 7 key policy development strategies for creating a livable Rayong. The province is rapidly implementing solutions and supporting citizens and youth to understand environmental situations and manage risks effectively. The key environmental protection strategies include: first, addressing major pollution issues like community, industrial, and toxic waste; second, sustainably preventing flooding in critical areas; and third, preventing natural resource destruction through strict law enforcement. As an example, survey data shows Rayong generates 896.88 tons of municipal waste daily, averaging 1.3 kilograms per person. To address this, the province launched the 'Rayong No Dumping, Transforming Waste into Sustainable Environment' project, focusing on comprehensive organic waste management by converting food waste from hotels, shopping centers, restaurants, schools, temples, and communities into energy and beneficial resources using effective microorganism innovations.
