Tragedy at Community Festival: 18-Year-Old Dies After Local Youth Altercation

On February 21, a fatal incident occurred during an annual community festival with a traditional Mor Lam performance. Worachet, an 18-year-old from Mueang Samsip District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, was attending the event with friends when a conflict erupted with a 20-year-old local youth named Wuttipong. After a physical altercation where Worachet struck Wuttipong with a stick, Wuttipong retaliated by stabbing Worachet in the stomach. The victim fled and collapsed near the temple entrance, where local security personnel initially attempted to detain him. Upon discovering his serious injury, they immediately tried to provide first aid and CPR, but he died at the hospital. Police later arrested Wuttipong, who admitted the attack was triggered by being irritated by Worachet's dancing near the stage, with no prior history between them.
