Tekball Celebrates Inclusion in Asian Games 2026 in Japan
The 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 organizing committee (AINAGOC) officially confirmed the inclusion of tekball as a medal sport. AINAGOC, the Asian Olympic Council (OCA), and the International Tekball Federation (FITEQ) signed a memorandum of understanding to officially recognize tekball as a competitive sport in the upcoming Asian Games. The three parties have committed to hosting a high-quality tekball competition that will contribute to the sport's continuous growth in Asia. The Thai national tekball team recently succeeded in the 2025 World Championships in Romania, winning 2 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal. In the 33rd Southeast Asian Games, they swept 5 gold medals. Thailand currently leads world rankings in several tekball categories, with Juthatip Kantathong ranked world No. 1 in women's singles and women's doubles.
