People's Party to Sue Election Commission Over Voting Ballot Barcodes

The People's Party will assign Dr. Wayo Assavarungrueng, the party's legal deputy leader, to file a lawsuit against the Election Commission and its secretary for violating Article 157 regarding the introduction of barcodes on voting ballots. Party spokesperson Prit Watcharasin emphasized that the barcodes create a significant loophole that could potentially expose voter identities and compromise the secrecy of voting. He argued that the barcodes could allow political parties to track how individuals vote, potentially enabling voter intimidation or manipulation. Prit stressed that the party's goal is not to change election results, but to protect voters' rights and ensure that officials who intentionally commit fraud are held legally accountable.
