Predator Arrested After 8 Years on the Run: Man Charged with Sexually Assaulting Intellectually Disabled Girl

On February 18, 2024, Police Major General Phattanasak Bubphsuwan ordered a special operations team to arrest Kittikorn (last name withheld), 47, on an arrest warrant from Chumphon Provincial Court issued on March 18, 2021. The suspect was captured at a residence in Tambon Ban Na, Palian District, Trang Province. The incident dates back to 2018 when Kittikorn, then living in Chumphon Province, lured and sexually assaulted a young woman with intellectual disabilities. After the victim's parents reported the crime, a court issued an arrest warrant. Upon learning of the legal proceedings, Kittikorn fled and went into hiding across various provinces for over 8 years. Law enforcement finally tracked him to Trang Province and successfully apprehended him. During questioning, the suspect confessed to the crime, claiming he acted due to a momentary lapse of judgment and lack of self-control. He was handed over to Chumphon police for further legal processing.
