Trade Promotion Department Discusses with Asia Super Store to Launch Thai Fruit Festival Campaign
The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) met with Asia Super Store at their Shinjuku branch in Japan to discuss promoting Thai products. Suphaporn Sukmark, Deputy Director-General of DITP, expressed gratitude for the store's 30-year support in introducing Thai goods to Japanese and international consumers. The discussion centered on organizing a promotional campaign for Thai food and fruits from March to July 2024, with a focus on durian, mangosteen, coconut, longan, and other food and beverage products. They proposed creating online banners on the Asia Super Store website and coordinating with Thai commercial attachés in Tokyo for broader promotion. Asia Super Store's owner noted that Japanese customers are increasingly interested in cooking Thai food, with 50% of customers buying food ingredients, fresh vegetables, and cooking supplies. The store specializes in Asian food products that are hard to find in regular supermarkets. DITP also plans to bring 11 Thai entrepreneurs to the Supermarket Trade Show in Chiba in February 2024, featuring products like canned tuna, coconut, noodles, and beverages.
