Heart Association and GlaxoSmithKline Collaborate to Promote Preventive Heart Health
The Thai Heart Association, under Royal Patronage, and GlaxoSmithKline (Thailand) signed a collaboration agreement for the "Guardian For Healthy Heart: Empowering Cardiologists and Patients Through Adult Immunization Awareness" project. The goal is to promote preventive heart care and create awareness about infection prevention through vaccination for heart patients. On January 15, Police Major General Dr. Kasem Rattanasumawong, President of the Thai Heart Association, along with Associate Professor Dr. Somnap Boonyarattavet, the Vice President, signed the agreement with GSK, represented by Maria Kristich, the company's Managing Director. The collaboration aims to reduce infection risks for heart patients, who are more vulnerable to heart failure and potentially severe complications. The project has three main components: 1. Creating public awareness media through Thai Healthy Heart channels, including short videos and infographics by heart disease experts to help patients and families understand vaccine importance. 2. Supporting academic activities for heart specialists. 3. Developing tools for doctors to recommend vaccines based on modern international guidelines. Interested individuals can follow additional heart health information through the Thai Heart Association's LINE Official Account: @THHealthyHeart, Facebook: ThaiHealthyHeart, and website ThaiHealthyHeart.com. The ultimate objective is to reduce infection risks, improve heart patients' quality of life, and sustainably reduce the burden on Thailand's public health system.
