Thai-Cambodia News Center Discusses Media Communication, Emphasizing Unified Messaging Without Distortion
On February 19, 2026, Air Chief Marshal Prapas Sonjaidi, Director of the Joint Information Center on the Thailand-Cambodia Situation (JIC), chaired a meeting on communication strategies to build confidence among people and the international community regarding Thailand's border management and international relations.
The meeting involved the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission, the JIC, radio and television operators, and media representatives from various sectors. The primary objective was to discuss collaborative communication approaches that ensure accurate, verifiable, and consistent information across government, private, and media sectors.
The JIC was established according to Joint Statement Item 16, signed by the Minister of Defense, to serve as a central mechanism for systematically communicating border situation information transparently and in compliance with international law and humanitarian principles.
The center aims to communicate sensitively, avoiding provocative language, generalizations, or actions that might diminish the dignity of either party, while maintaining the legitimacy of the Thai government through peaceful, transparent, and sustainable communication.
