Late-Night Thief: Highway Police Arrest 21-Year-Old Suspect for Stealing Electrical Cables

On February 14, 2024, highway police officers led by senior officials conducted an operation to arrest Theeraphong, 21, for stealing electrical cables from a public highway. The suspect was caught near Highway 81 (Bang Yai-Kanchanaburi) in Nakhon Pathom province after being reported by the Traffic Operation Center. During the arrest, police found one suspect at the scene, while another accomplice named Theeradech managed to escape. Recovered evidence included a motorcycle, multiple electrical cables of various lengths, cable-cutting tools, and other equipment. The suspect confessed to planning to sell the stolen cables to a secondhand shop. He was handed over to local police for further prosecution, with authorities continuing to search for his accomplice. Police warned that stealing or damaging public infrastructure is a serious criminal offense with severe legal consequences.
