Joint Forces Sweep Illegal Internet Distribution Equipment, Immediately Halt Cross-Border Signal Transmission

On February 13, 2024, a joint operation by the Technology Crime Suppression Division, NBTC officials, and AIS 3BB FIBRE3 network, along with law enforcement, conducted a raid on rental rooms in Koh Sai community, Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai Province. After detecting abnormal usage patterns, they investigated suspicious technical installations aimed at preventing illegal network use and online criminal activities. During the operation, officers discovered unoccupied rooms with modified network and computer equipment designed to distribute and route signals, including VPN setups with traffic routing to foreign destinations. Officials immediately suspended related signals and seized critical equipment for further investigation, targeting the interconnected criminal network's financial transactions and equipment sourcing.
