9 Universities Petition Administrative Court to Halt Election Results Certification, Citing Illegal Voting Process
Representatives from nine universities, including Chulalongkorn, Thammasat, Kasetsart, and others, led by Theerapat Supapitakpaiboon, filed a lawsuit against the Election Commission (EC) at the Central Administrative Court. Theerapat alleged that the February 8th election was illegal because ballots contained barcodes that could potentially identify individual voters, violating the constitutional principle of secret voting. The group requested the court to declare the election process unlawful, order a new election, and prohibit the EC from using QR codes or technologies that could link ballots to voter identities in future elections.
