CP Joins Forces with Intellectual Property Department to Drive Innovation and Economic Growth

CP, through CP Center of Excellence (CP COE), is collaborating with the Intellectual Property Department of the Ministry of Commerce to host the 'DIP X CP IP Forum 2026: Elevating Thailand's Intellectual Property to Excellence'. The event aims to position intellectual property as a critical driver of innovation and economic development. Piyaporn Pasakanont, Head of Corporate Innovation Strategy at CP Group, emphasized the event's role in reinforcing CP COE and CP IP Center's commitment to building a strong innovation ecosystem for Thailand. As part of the event, the Intellectual Property Department signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with CP Research and Development Center to coordinate efforts between public and private sectors, promoting technology development, innovation, intellectual property protection, and commercial utilization. Oramon Saptaweedham, Director-General of the Intellectual Property Department, highlighted the collaboration's goal of connecting government and private sector work to promote modern technology and innovation, alongside concrete intellectual property protection and utilization. The MOU framework includes plans to develop a comprehensive intellectual property ecosystem, starting with enhancing research and personnel capabilities through knowledge exchange, expertise sharing, and technology transfer. The collaboration aims to promote innovation that addresses future challenges, implement appropriate IP protection, and ultimately transform intellectual property into value-added assets that create competitive advantages for Thai entrepreneurs.
