Employer Representatives Ready to Reform Social Security, Assure No Power Hoarding
Montri Thirakokai, a working group member studying the Social Security Office reform structure, gave an interview about the first working group meeting on February 6th. He emphasized that while change is good, reforming the Social Security Office requires careful consideration.
Montri believes the reform should focus on transparency and good governance, noting key considerations such as contribution collection, medical management, and fund investment. He stressed the importance of studying past research, consulting experts like Professor Dr. Somkid Lertpaitoon, and examining successful international models.
The representative highlighted the need to prioritize the interests of insured persons and maintain the tripartite principle involving employers, insured persons, and the government. He suggested studying successful models like Malaysia and government pension funds while being cautious about potential pitfalls of privatization.
