Vehicle Mysteriously Disappears, Police Shocked to Find It Simply Rolled Away

At 3:15 PM on February 16, 2024, the Chom Thong Police Station received a report of a stolen vehicle near Ban Tan Dok Mai in Chom Thong District, Chiang Mai Province. Investigating officers initially mobilized to track down the allegedly stolen car. Upon arrival, the vehicle owner explained that he had parked the car and left the engine running while running an errand. When he returned, the car was gone. After checking security camera footage, police discovered the car had simply rolled down the road and ended up in a roadside drainage canal. No theft had occurred - the car had moved on its own due to being left without the parking brake engaged. When the vehicle was located, everyone was relieved, with some villagers even laughing with joy. The Chom Thong Police Station warned citizens to always turn off their engines and engage parking brakes for safety.
