Arrest of 26-Year-Old Woman Who Rented House Daily Using Fake ID, Stealing Furniture Worth Hundreds of Thousands
On February 5, 2024, police officers led by Pol. Maj. Gen. Pattanasak Buppasuwan arrested Jiriyaporn (last name withheld), 26, who was wanted by the Pattaya Provincial Court on charges of theft using a vehicle to facilitate the crime. The investigation revealed that in June 2023, the victim reported that a woman contacted them to rent a house in Si Racha District, Chonburi Province, offering daily rent of 500 baht and providing a copied ID of a man she claimed was her boyfriend. After about a month of continuous rent payments, the woman began avoiding payment and eventually fled, using a closed van to steal furniture including 3 air conditioners, a washing machine, beds, wardrobes, a TV, and other items, causing a total damage of 136,500 baht. When confronted, the suspect denied all allegations and was handed over to the police for further legal proceedings.
