Election Official Detained for Allegedly Attempting to Cast 14 Ballots

On February 9, 2024, a female election official identified as Ms. A, 35 years old, was detained at Polling Station 6, Tha Wang Thong Subdistrict, Mueang District, Phayao Province. During a period of low voter turnout, staff noticed her holding multiple ballots. Upon inspection, 14 ballots were found - 7 green and 7 pink ballots. She was taken to Phayao Police Station for questioning. Ms. A denied all allegations and stated she would fight the case in court. Authorities are continuing to investigate to ensure the election's integrity.
