Thitipat Protests Fake News and Image Manipulation, Calls on People's Party to Compete with Policies
On February 1, 2024 - Thitipat Chankaew (Folk), a Rak Chart Party executive and Bangkok parliamentary candidate, issued a statement demanding political integrity after discovering irregularities in the final stage of the election. Fake news operations and manipulated graphic images were detected, designed to create confusion among the public. Specifically, social media accounts were found using images with 'Rak Chart' text but altering the party's official number 35 to number 46, which belongs to the People's Party. Thitipat noted that initial investigations revealed suspicious user accounts - newly created or with few followers - systematically spreading identical manipulated images. He emphasized the need for mutual respect in political communication, calling on the People's Party to help create a new political culture that debates policy without personal attacks or information distortion.
