Tragic Landslide Kills Myanmar Worker During Underground Cable Duct Construction
On February 5th, Police Lieutenant Nattanut Nab-ngam-thanaseth from Bang Na Police Station was notified of a landslide accident that killed a worker near the Bang Na BTS Station on Sukhumvit Road. Emergency responders and volunteers from the Ruam Katanyu Foundation arrived at the construction site for an underground cable duct over 10 meters deep. They discovered one fatality: Mr. Wee Ale, a Myanmar worker aged 30-35, whose body was buried in mud and clay. Rescue units used a stretcher to recover the body, and forensic teams documented the scene. Preliminary investigations suggest that while workers were preparing the underground construction site, a sudden land slide occurred, trapping and killing the worker. Authorities are currently investigating the construction site manager and workers to determine the exact cause of this tragic incident.
