62-Year-Old Man Rushes to Vote, Dies in Fatal Motorcycle Collision with Truck
On February 8, 2024 at 9:00 AM, Police Lieutenant Colonel Sirichai Phothijak and emergency rescue services were notified of a motorcycle accident on the road between Ban Sam Prao and Ban Don Kloi, near Udon Thani Rajabhat University. At the scene, they found the body of Mr. Suphap, 62, from Mak Khaeng Subdistrict, lying dead in the middle of the road with a broken left arm and left thigh. His blue Honda motorcycle was severely damaged, and a six-wheeled Isuzu truck carrying a small backhoe was hit from behind, with its rear lights broken. The truck driver, Mr. Thongdaeng, 59, reported that he was driving to work when he suddenly heard a loud thud and stopped to investigate. Mr. Tawan, 36, the victim's son, explained that his father was likely rushing to vote at the Ban Chang polling station and was possibly driving too fast, leading to the fatal collision. Police will conduct a further investigation into the exact cause of the accident.
