Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) confirms that a 2.3 magnitude earthquake on February 19, 2024, at 2:57 AM near Khao Chot Subdistrict, Srisawat District, Kanchanaburi Province, did not affect the Vajiralongkorn and Sirindhorn Dams. The Vajiralongkorn Dam is approximately 54 kilometers from the earthquake's epicenter, with a peak acceleration of 0.00046 g. The Sirindhorn Dam is about 56.09 kilometers from the epicenter, with a peak acceleration of 0.00012 g. EGAT's large dams are designed to withstand earthquakes with acceleration rates of 0.1-0.2 g, and the organization will continue to monitor the situation closely.
