Tragic End: Female Wild Elephant Dies Despite Three Days of Intensive Medical Care
A female wild elephant with a left front leg injury in the Ban Non Somporn area of Khao Chakan District, Sa Kaeo Province, has died at 4:59 PM, despite three days of intensive medical intervention. Initially, the medical team reported some improvement in the elephant's condition in the morning, but by noon, the situation dramatically changed with the elephant experiencing severe cramping and pain. Medical staff continuously treated the animal, taking blood samples for detailed health assessment and administering fluids, digestive stimulants, and pain medication. Around 4:50 PM, the elephant's condition worsened critically, with abnormal dark brown urination preceding a shock state. Despite emergency medical efforts, the elephant did not respond to treatment and passed away shortly after. Wildlife conservation officials have coordinated with investigators to transport the elephant's remains for religious ceremony and autopsy at the Khao Takrub Forest Protection Unit to analyze the cause of death and prevent similar incidents in the future. Sukee Boonsung, director of Wildlife Conservation, expressed deep sorrow over the loss, emphasizing the team's full three-day effort to save the animal.
