Tragic Incident: Tourist Dies While Snorkeling After Epileptic Episode

At 5:00 PM on February 21, Police Lieutenant Nawathorn Phuwasetthawan from Sattahip Police Station was notified by the Sattahip Hospital rescue center about a tourist drowning while snorkeling near Ko Kram island. The victim, identified as Amornthep, aged 35, was unconscious in the water and quickly brought to shore. Despite immediate medical intervention at Wat Yanasangwararam Hospital, rescue and medical teams could not save his life. Friends reported that during snorkeling in waist to chest-deep water, the victim, who had a history of epilepsy, likely experienced a sudden seizure, causing him to lose consciousness and drown. Police plan to investigate the boat tour operator according to legal procedures.
