Thai Rugby 7s Team Crushes Malaysia, Reclaims ASEAN Championship
The ASEAN Rugby 7s Championship, hosted annually by Singapore alongside the World Rugby 7s Series, provides an opportunity for winners to compete in the global tournament for rugby fans worldwide.
Police Colonel Kulthorn Prachubmote, President of the Thailand Rugby Football Association, sent a mixed team focused on rising stars, with only 2-3 senior national team players supporting the squad.
Despite this, the Thai rugby teams - both male and female - reached the finals. The women's team dramatically erased last year's third-place finish by completely defeating Malaysia 39-0, reclaiming their championship title. The men's team, previous champions, focused on young talents this year and ended up as runners-up, losing to Malaysia by just one try with a final score of 5-10.
