The National Agency for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring reported that Bayantes soum in Zavkhan province recorded the lowest temperature of -51.1 degrees Celsius in January, marking the coldest point of this winter season. By February 15, at least 80% of Mongolia's territory was covered in snow up to 40 centimeters deep, increasing the risk of 'dzud' - extreme winter conditions. The Mongolian Statistics Office previously reported that over 26,300 livestock have died due to severe cold across at least 11 of the country's 21 provinces.
