Buddhist Amulet Insights – Luang Pu Thim's Compassion Medal Series
"Dharma is the study of the true nature of body and mind," a spiritual message from Luang Por Cha Subhaddo of Wat Nong Pa Phong in Ubon Ratchathani. In 1942, flooding damaged the crematorium at Wat Kamphaeng, leaving many unclaimed and impoverished bodies unable to be cremated according to traditional rites. To address this, the temple committee sought to clear the cemetery and build a new crematorium, requiring significant funds. They consulted Luang Por Pai Lo Chantasaro, a respected monk from Wat Kamphaeng in Bangkok's Phasi Charoen district, to create commemorative amulets for donors. The medal features a Buddha image seated in a five-sided frame with a two-tiered lotus base within a glass pavilion. Phra Ajarn Jaluek Sanyato, the abbot of Wat Chuk Ka Cho in Chon Buri, created the "Luang Pu Thim Compassion Medal" to honor two revered Buddhist masters.
