15-Year-Old Arrested for Gold Shop Robbery in Hat Yai

SONGKHLA — On February 5, 2026, police arrested a 15-year-old suspect for a gold shop robbery in Hat Yai district, Songkhla province, and recovered the stolen jewelry after the youth fled to Ubon Ratchathani. The juvenile committed the robbery on February 3 at a gold shop near Prince of Songkla University, stealing gold jewelry weighing 33 baht. Officers from the Crime Suppression Division apprehended the suspect at the Ubon Ratchathani bus terminal after reviewing CCTV footage, with the youth attempting to flee during the arrest. During questioning, the suspect confessed and led police to a friend's house in Songkhla where over 30 gold necklaces were hidden. Legal proceedings will continue under juvenile justice procedures.
