Exploring the Mystical Water Pool: Investigating the 800-Year-Old Giant Eel Legend
Local authorities and village leaders recently explored the legendary 'Divine Water Pool' cave located in Non Pradu Village, Sukhothai Province. The cave, known for generations of mystical stories, was investigated by district officials including Pranom Kaewkampon, who entered the narrow rocky cavern with equipment like ropes and flashlights. Inside, they found a deep green water pool, bats, and cave-dwelling animals, but no evidence of the mythical giant eel that local legends claim is 800 years old and capable of capturing buffalo calves. The site is deeply connected to local folklore about King Phra Ruang, who according to legend once slipped and fell in this area, creating two sacred water holes that never dry up.
