ASML Meets BOI to Support Supply Chain Development and 'Chips Made in Thailand' Initiative
ASML, the world's leading chip machinery manufacturer, met with the Board of Investment (BOI) to discuss collaboration on developing supply chains in Thailand. ASML executives expressed interest in knowledge and technology transfer to develop and elevate the capabilities of potential local manufacturers in advanced semiconductor equipment production. The company currently has key suppliers investing in Thailand and plans to increase their number. ASML is ready to collaborate with the Thai government on the national semiconductor strategy and 'Chips Made in Thailand' goal, including helping to upgrade Thai personnel's skills for the semiconductor industry. The company is uniquely positioned globally, being the only manufacturer with High-NA Extreme Ultraviolet Lithography technology that can produce high-performance chips with circuit sizes from 7 nanometers to under 2 nanometers. ASML views Thailand as a high-potential country due to its comprehensive electronics components, machinery, skilled workforce, and integrated manufacturing infrastructure.
